Yes, Star Trek Online now has a free version. There is still a paid Gold Option with a few more perks, but still, I really haven't noticed a lack of functionality in the free version.

Just head over to http://www.startrekonline.com/download to download it, set up an account, and have it at! I played it for quite a bit the last two days, it is really pretty fun! Especially being able to play a free MMO since I never have before.
 
Lol no, definitely human. Come on, I've always wanted to be in StarFleet! Haha.

This game is REALLLLYYY fun! I mean, it should not be free. At all. I am really tempted to pay some for some of the perks.
 
I dunno, it feels kinda like PSO. Lots of cool things you can do to customize your character and your ship and your officers. The space battles are pretty fun, the missions are exciting, and teaming up online with other players is cool as well.

I just downloaded it and have yet to try it, anyone still playing?

All the reviews point to this game being just ok. It'll have a hard time keeping my interest unless it's a fantastic game or if there's a bunch of friends playing it.
