So Sony had their big Fall Preview event in downtown Toronto yesterday, and I went!
Sony Had:
Gran Turismo 5
Killzone 3 - IN 3-D
Motorstorm Apocalypse - IN 3-D
Infamous 2
They also had:
A bunch of the new release Move games, which I didn't try because all the little kids were in line for them
Socom 4 - which was having issues everytime I walked by (lol)
Little Big Planet 2
Sega had:
Vanquish - PSN demo :/ (which I already played!)
Sonic The Hedghog 4
Virtua Tennis 4 - IN 3-D WITH MOVE
Disney had:
Tron - The game
Namco had:
Enslaved (I guess since it was just released - but disappointing)
Time Crisis (With Move)
Konami had:
Castlevania LOS (Already released - meh)
EA had:
Rock Band 3 (No Need For Speed? Or Medal of Honour - since it's out next month???)
Activision had:
Guitar Hero - Warriors of Rock (Meh)
DJ Hero 2
AND they had COD Black Ops - but only for press. They packed it up before they let people in. (FFS - Why?)
Capcom had:
Dead Rising 2 (Again, disappointing since already released)
RE5 with Move support (meh)
Ubisoft had:
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (or whatever it's called - the new one)
You could really tell who gave a rat's butt and who didn't, because some booths had people to guide and help you - like with the Disney booth for Tron, and Sega had this really hot milf to help with Sonic 4 for god's sake!
The Namco booth with Time Crisis? Nobody. Had *no* idea what I was doing, and I was standing there with another guy blundering around trying to set it to two player mode. Eventually a guy behind us helped us figure it out.
Also, I got a Mod Nation Racers t-shirt that is the brightest effing yellow I have ever seen. I look like Big Bird in it!
And there was *nothing* set up or demonstrated for PSP.
Overall...
Motorstorm Apocalypse was really, really cool in 3-D. Even with the glasses - which were big enough they could even fit over my regular glasses and not feel very awkward.
Virtua Tennis looked cool, but for some reason it was *really* noticable during the slow motion replays - it looked great.
Killzone 3 was much more understated. It gave a sense of depth but things didn't fly out at you like Motorstorm did.
I am convinced though, 3-D gaming can be pretty cool.
