Sega Dreamcast Shenmue

has anyone here played this game?? I bought it from EB games a few months ago and never played it untill last night. The graphics are cool, as well as the music.
But the question I have is how do you save the game?? The beginning is like 20 minutes of drama and monologue. And after that you get to explore the neighborhood looking for clues on finding some guys in "black suits." My copy didn't come with an instruction manual.

You save at your house. Your room to be exact. Go to the bed and it will give you an option of either sleep or save. I own both Shenmue one and two. Awsome games, but not for everybody.

Okay that makes sense. I was on it for like an hour before I started getting a headache because I couldn't find a save point. Now I know and I'll have to give it another go.

Eventually when its late on your watch you get sent back to your room to sleep. So when that happens you can save there. And the cool thing about it is that you dont have to travel all the way back from your room. It gives you another option to automatically go back to the spot where you were last before you went to bed.

So I assume that this game gets better as time goes by??
And by the way, is there any company that sells reproduction instruction manuals for videogames??

I dont think any of them do. Maybe BV would send you one from one of his games. :D
As for the game getting better, it really depends. Its not your usual game. Its not fast paced. I just love it because of all the exploration you can do and the fighting engine is one of the best since its almost directly from Virtual Fighter. You would have to keep playing it to see if you like it. Its strong points are the fighting, the story and the collecting of capsule toys.

Shenmue, what an amazing game...I played part 2....once I was finished, I wanted so much more...yet the original game is so incredible by far...god bless Sega...if they only made a real part 3..*sigh*

Shenmue displayed pretty decent graphics for a Dreamcast, I really didn't understand the game myself and that's what made me stop playing it. I had the first one, played it for like an hour and didn't know wtf was going on, the fighting was really confusing to me and I really didn't progress in the game that much, I just lost interest in it. :(

I have played, and beat both Shenmue titles. I love the series and Im dissapointed that they are not makin a part 3.

I finished the first one but have not beat the second one as of yet. I really need to get to it. I heard the bad news about the apparent demise of the 3rd part. That was a series that really had promise. Don't know what happened.

I just read an article a couple of days ago that they might release an MMO game on the 360. It would constantly get updated with new pieces of the story but no word yet if it's going to be made.
