Sega Saturn Saturn Surgery

I have successfully installed new lens, and lens gear related parts in my "dead" saturn.I had a non working saturn model one(the one with the different shaped power, and reset bottuns)so I took the lens, and motor mounts, and gears, and replaced the them in my recently deceased saturn model two(round buttons).....the result? It lives again!!!While having mostly the same basic parts, the models differ greatly in layout on the inside.my first thought was to replace the entire motor, sleds(or whatever they are called),and lens, with some soldering...however the boards are not the same size,so I had to diesect the motor area inside...with a little skill, and a lot of luck,it was a success.Merry Christmas!

Congrats man :) That is a feat among many...but kudos to you good sir. Always a great feeling to bring something back from the dead ::D.

the Genesis I have, was ressurected from the dead...the unit was terrible, looked like it was found in the dump truck....but look at it now...it's shiny and plays like clockwork :)

That's good to hear about your Franken-Saturn!! I admit, I baby my saturn and Dreamcast because I am afraid that one day I too will have to do open-circuit surgery on them. My SMS is a brick. It will probably run under water!!
