January 10, 2005 - Rockstar Games today announced that a new Grand Theft Auto title and a portable version of Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition are in development for the Sony PSP. Rockstar expects to release both titles close to the PSP's North American launch (which means, hopefully, March).

The PSP Grand Theft Auto is set to be a "brand new iteration" set in Liberty City. Rockstar Leeds is developing the game, in conjunction with Rockstar North and Rockstar San Diego.

"We are working very closely with Rockstar North and Rockstar San Diego to ensure that both Grand Theft Auto and Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition remain faithful to the initial vision of these respective franchises," said Gordon Hall, President of Rockstar Leeds. "We understand that gamers' expectations will be very high for new PSP handheld system titles and we are confident that we can deliver exhilarating experiences that will set the standard for what a PSP game can be with Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition and our new Grand Theft Auto title."

While the company is keeping more details under wraps for now, you can bet we'll be back with more as soon as we can; we're as curious as you about how GTA will play, portable style.

Now there's an informed, unbiased, logical, well thought out post.

I could wipe my butt and come up with something better.

You know what..you have a point ..I am very biased when it comes to buggy games with little to no gameplay changes in the past 3 or so years..I cannot stand them.

Of course they could be doing a complete overhaul of GTA for the PSP..at which time I will concede that I was wrong..until then I expect nothing from Rockstar or GTA other than yet another rehash of GTA 3 with such innovative new gameplay ideas as changing clothes, eating food, and driving bicycles. Prehaps this time around we will be able to also drive a unicycle! Wow that would be innovative wouldn't it?

Well it's more innovative than those stone age 2D fighters you go on and on about.

I'm flattered that you have picked me to be your new enemy on these boards..really I am.

But I must digress from arguing with you as its very apparant that you only do it to provoke a response..so that you can then in turn practice your skills at showing how big and bad you are on the internet by personaly attacking people.

Enjoy it with others who may fall prey to it..I shall not.

your kidding right? :lol

Neph.. you are talking about some of the greatest games ever made.  They revolutionized fighting games.
The Neo Geo made every game you played today better.

The Neo Geo lasted 10 years at least.... (that means full production of games during that time).

what other system accomplished that?

WHAT OTHER SYSTEM had better graphics & gameplay than the Ps2 for  KOF 2000/2001?  Yes, the 10 year old system made the game look better than the ps2 did.   I gotta be honest, I do not fully understand why it was that way though :lol

Same thing happened with the Xbox version of SNK Vs Capcom Chaos... the Neo Geo version was better.

14 years actually..they debuted MVS in 1990, the last release was in 2004. So Neo Geo lasted 14 years..longer than any other console ever has, and I doubt any ever will again.

Your exactly right too Blue..if the 2D graphics are so stone age then why can the PS2 and Xbox not handle the graphics that a 14 year old "stone age" console can...? Anyone want to answer that?
