Well Grind, is this because of your secret crush on Brittany Murphy? Maybe it's the fact that all heavy musicians and comedians went the same path? :p

I say that as someone who has been in several bands. I play very heavy music. I haven't overdosed. Just the fact that I work in a hospital keeps me away from illicit drugs since I am responsible for helping save lives when I work.

Additionally, I am, and have been for some time, a student of the sciences. Assume nothing without evidence.

I am not saying necessarily that it was not drug related. I just hate to see people rush to conclusions that musician = druggy. I view it the same way as the alarmists who say violent crime = video game influence.
 
Anything at this point is pure speculation as there is no mention in the article regarding cause of death. We'll just have to wait and see what the autopsy says...

Hopefully for the music scene he didn't overdose... It could have been a few other things as well... cardiac arrest, doctor giving him meds he shouldn't have outside the hospital (M.J.)... etc.

Unfortunately science fails to acknowledge the Laws of Averages. Typically musicians hang around the same types of people, and things like this tend to happen to musicians. Now, I am not saying he did overdose, neither am I saying he didn't. All I am saying is evidence or not, public opinion will be slanted in this case, and as history suggests, they may not be far from the truth.

Either way, it's a shame he died at the age he did...
