....NOW LEARN A PARABLE OF THE FIG TREE: WHEN HER BRANCH IS YET TENDER,AND PUTTETH FORTH LEAVES,YE KNOW THAT SUMMER IS NEAR:
....SO YE IN LIKE MANNER,WHEN YE SHALL SEE THESE THINGS COME TO PASS,KNOW THAT IT IS NIGH,EVEN AT THE DOORS.
....VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU,THAT THIS GENERATION SHALL NOT PASS,TILL ALL THESE THINGS BE DONE....

MARK 13:28-30

Yes,anyone can quote scripture to suit his own ideas and needs. And yes, natural diasters are constants through time. The "BOOK OF REVELATION" is hands down the most enigmatic part of the Bible.Don't read the "BOOK OF REVELATION" looking for answers. Before attempting to understand this "BOOK OF REVELATION" you must have a firm knowledge of the ancient Greek and Hebrew texts which "THE BOOK OF REVELATION" extracts a lot of material.

Contrary to popular belief,"THE BOOK OF REVELATION" is good news. Most people out of curiosity read the first few chapters then close the book when they get to the enigmatic "FOUR HORSEMEN" part because they take it the wrong way,or it scares them.People all over the world have their own take on what this truly enigmatic Book has to say, which is good. It's not so much what the "BOOK OF REVELATION" has to offer in the way of prophecy that God wants us to know and expect, but it's also the effort and desire to learn and understand the message it's trying to get across to us that He also desires.

God would not have included this final Book in the Bible if there were no possible way for us to understand it.That wouldn't be fair now would it? In closing,I Jason Welch share and understand in our suffering and with all my heart love you.God has not abandoned us,I promise you.

I tend to think that stuff like this should be kept off the forums. While I support everyone's beliefs, and their liberty to express them, it is always good policy to keep politics, religion, and personal opinions out of it. These are personal issues that are best left to the individual and his or her family.

Yeah, people who agree with you already know everything you're saying, and everyone who doesn't agree doesn't care what you're saying.

To be blunt.

Well, Mr. Kaz, I am glad that you feel strongly and are excited about what you believe in.

I never thought Revelation was a bad book, tho. It always seemed like one of the coolest books.

Oh, and personally, I do not see any reason to keep stuff like this off the forum, cuz it is in general discussion, and if people are not interested they will not post and the thread will die off...so I do not see how it is hurting anything.

Plus, if someone is really into anything...sports, religion, politics, etc...they tend to want to share it...cuz they are enthused and excited, so I think it is kinda nice if they can get it out and say what they are feeling.

If a thread is boring or not my cup of tea, then I just ignore it..that is easy enough to do. :)

Same reason there's a separation of church and state.

Separation of church and state was implemented to ensure that all citizens were viewed on a level playing field and the state didn't have an inherent bias to any race or religion. I don't see that being an issue here.

Discussions like this go one of two ways. Either everything breaks down to petty argument and flaming, or the discussion is handled maturely and nothing bad comes from it. Most threads like this are handled the second way so I see no reason to force them off the forums.

As much as this is an interesting topic. I have to say, this may get messy or flaming. Yet, remember, this is just a "Revelation" of what MAY happen or what may come to be honest.

Until then, live a good life. Just know that when it happens, NOBODY will be able to talk about it over the water cooler at work the next day.

If you live your life in fear, then good men cannot do anything. What Mr. Kaz is stating, is to key in on the good parts of what this part of the Bible does for you to understand. Which, yes, it has been ignored many times. Since people love the fire and brimstone part.

Just like why we love watching a Horror movie, we don't watch it for the STORYLINE. We watch it to see if that dumb blonde running with her top off is going to get murdered in the shower or not! Not, "Hey why did these teenagers come to this place in the first place?"

Bottom line: Reasoning and Understanding is the death of Fear.

If that is the case, then the very post you made to say it would itself be redundant. Therefore, the fact that you did post it proves you don't believe it yourself.

I always thought Revelations was cool. I remember reading it as a kid and getting that feeling people sometimes get, the "car crash" effect where you don't want to look but you can't help it. I haven't read it much since, but I'm pretty sure it's heavy on metaphors and allegories (for example, one of the four horseman is a metaphor for disease or pestilence or some such, may be wrong about that...) so a lot of that was lost on me as a kid. But all the talk of hell beasts and fire from the sky and whatnot was certainly captivating, and I always thought it would be neat if someone compared the Christian Apocalypse with the Norse Ragnarok, which is equally captivating/terrifying and ultimately results in things being better than they were before.

I think the Book of Revelations is actually supposed to be, as Kaz pointed out, a book of hope more than anything. I should really read it again, at the very least, its cheaper than renting a horror movie... :lol

Stealth, while I agree to a point that Revelation is loaded with metaphors and whatnot, I don't believe that it was intentional. After all, it was written by John towards the close of the first century about things that have yet to occur. And since people thought a hundred and fifty years ago that the human body couldn't stand speeds in excess of 25 miles per hour, imagine what was going through the author's head while essentially viewing things that are common in our day!

I also agree that this thread is useless in the eyes of the unbeliever, simply because it either makes little to no sense, or their seething hatred of all that represents Christianity prevents them from even caring.

I fail to see the connection here. Besides, the separation of church and state does not bar Christian beliefs within the realm of politics. It was designed for two reasons. To keep the government from exercising influence within the church, and to prevent the church from ushering in a theocratic society. Just like too much world pollutes the church, too much church pollutes the government.
