OK, so maybe not "loving it," but it doesn't seem to be phased: Despite the emphatic urging of Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida, it seems that third-party support for the PSP is continuing to dwindle. That said, the system is continuing to flourish from a sales point of view. That's the story from Edge Online, which recently published a lengthy investigation into this curious state of affairs.

After looking at the numbers, its hard to blame publishers for not wanting to pour cash into the system. But with ever improving sales of PSPs, we wouldn't be surprised to see a big turn-around soon.

Eh, I don't think it's so much the sales as it is the development process(Sony's not that kind to third parties).

Never thought I would see another company name inserted there except Nintendo to be honest.

It's probably a good mix of both and other factors as well.

Actually, Nintendo's been doing pretty good at patching up their relationships the last few years.

Yeah, sales = support. Just not entirely good support. It's the same for any company really. PS2 had a ton of crappy third party shovel-ware.

Yeah, but at least Nintendo's stopped being a dick to most third parties. Sony took over that. Telling Square to stop making RPGs...

Yeah, one company =/= all third parties though.

which is the company that has supported the PSP the most??? square-enix.....

One company =/= all third party support once again though. And they haven't lost third party support from Square Enix. It's purely a business standpoint. I don't think Sony will lose support from Square Enix as they've been pretty set on working multi-platform...Gamecube and DS included.

but again there's no company that gives as much support to the PSP as Square-enix does, and still Sony demands them to not make turn-based RPGs, that's ridiculous in my opinion, besides one of the big reasons the PSP sold a lot in japan is because of the games square-enix released on it, if you look at the games released this past year that are 3rd party you will notice they are either generic games like need for speed or other sport games that appear in other consoles or the occasional good first party game which so far in my opinion of the ones i experienced myself is god of war.

And that's your OPINION. Square Enix hasn't stopped supporting the PSP. Not by a long shot. Final Fantasy Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep are looking amazing. And there's alot of great games on the PSP, in MY opinion.

never said they had stopped giving support (and you forgot PE:3 and FFXIII agito which are the reasons i am eager to get a psp next year) FHQ and i just talk about the fact that it's stupid that sony asked square-enix to stop making turn based RPGS....

and again i never stated otherwise =/.... this article however its only stating the facts, there's not a lot of third party games for the psp (but again square-enix stuff is good enough for me + GoD and JDA) and that it's actually affecting the console apparently.

Every company makes mistakes. Sony has made some. God knows Microsoft and Nintendo have made plenty of their own as well.
