its not a rumor, thats a circuit city newspaper
Its not "official" yet, according to the article, but its probably gonna be true. Still, as of now, its a rumor because Circuit City hasn't officially said anything. Read the article I posted. It explains it all in there.

I wish the price would go down here ALOT did you know when the PS3 first came out here it was close to $999 im being serious.

Wow, Sony did something economically smart.

You mean slit it's other wrist while massively hemoraging millions? It will move more PS3s at Circuit City, but it will hurt Sony in the long run unless they are subsidizing income some other way.

But I think it's an intended rumor. Something to be "leaked" to see if it stirs a frenzy.

Sony has a big enough stake in the TV and DVD market to survive losing money in their entertainment section. You'd be surprised how much lose Sony could take in the entertainment section and still end up making a profit.

True, but making massive profit in one venture while losing millions in another is not considered a good business idea. I mean, what would be better? Making 20% gross profit in total business ventures (one economicaly healthy, and one not), or 30-40% gross profit (with both ventures healthy)?

Also true, but I want a PS3, so screw Sony's financial problems and just given me my PS3 for $150. :D

Rumor has it that it's not just Circuit City, though. Supposedly it's a retail-wide sale. And you know, now that I think about, my store just received about 10, so I can see it being possible.

Hmm, it's only for 6 days? Dang, good luck to some of the people trying to make that cash.
No, I think it will be for longer. That circular just says 15-21 because that's the week that circular is for. I have a feeling it will be $500 a little longer than that. 8)
