It was mainly just a pry to get people to put their codes on to have as much fun as us, BV, by the way xD :P Come on people, post your Friend Codes in the respective topic, here we'll discuss games we've had with each other.
 
I just raced Link. He pounded me on Choco Island or whatever, or let's say the rocks did x.x Sorry I had to leave in the middle, Link. (I'm Lamer, btw)
The only thing I really don't like about MKDS is chat feature. You can't say bye so it seems rude when you leave. xD
 
what I don't like is that some people are just too fast, I don't get it at all.... how some people can be so fast?

Well, most do it by snaking, the others by cheating :P

Snaking is where you use the mini-turbos from dragging on a straight course, thus going left and right looking like a "snake" formation where it gets its name. It gets you major speed and is considered "cheap" to those who don't know how to do it.

I do it though :P
 
hm... I've seen them do that. I couldn't figure out WHY people are so fast. I mean I am pretty good at mario kart..... so that is how they do it, eh?

Also drifiting really tight to the corners gets you through them quickly. Thats what I do for every turn. I drift and keep my kart drifting until it's time to straighten up for the straightaway.
 
see... I do that... I don't get it.... I mean.... people are beating me 1/2 lap ahead when I have driven perfect laps (some players with 300+ wins that is).... I really don't get it...

Kirby... how do you do that snake trick?

oh yeah?

It definitely isn't as fun because of that. But..... I found a group of people last night (no one snaked)... that was an intense race.... so much fun!

So how do you do this "snaking?"

I just got the game a couple weeks ago..and I couldn't find my DS for the longest time, but i finally did! Wow this game rocks....so someone tell me how to get the wifi stuff so I can play with you all :)
 
Snaking's literal definition, according to the Mario Kart DS GFAQs boards, is using the boost to your advantage on a straight part of track, and on high acceleration karts (Such as the Dry Bomber) it's a pretty evil tactic.

Basically it's powerslides, So you aim right press left hold L and do the left-right-left-right thing until you have a Mini-Turbo saved. Then let go and repeat in the opposite direction. I'll get a video of it later.
 
stupid Q.... a mini turbo? um... what have I been missing? I know the drift turbo... is that what you mean?

Im sure it is. I know that in the N64 version it was called the mini-turbo. It's the same concept in the DS version also.
