No Wii? Too bad.

seems that wii production enhancements have been delayed!

Still can't find a Wii? Don't expect that to change in 2007, as Taiwanese newspaper Digitimes -- which has been a reliable source for IT news in the past -- reports that plans to expand Wii production has been scrapped. Originally, Nintendo meant to broaden production in June, but as that's no longer happening, Wiis should remain difficult to track down through the rest of 2007.

"Tight supply" of IC chips and PCBs have been blamed for the production issues. Try explaining that to the soccer moms.

And it also means no new colors. That happens when the demand slows.

And the question shall be answered. ;)

No, Sony's keeping up with production. Nintendo's excuse is that their hardware is harder to make, which is a blatant lie. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo all keep things from the public and lie though, so we should get used to it.

yeah, that is a lame excuse on ninendo's end

but that quote i posted said something about IT not supplying enough chips or something

I'm surprised that there is "shortage." You wouldn't know it by the number of Wii's they've sold. This is weird.

indeed

they sell every unit they put out, they should know better than to fall behind

its only hurting them

I've noticed lately that every videogame store I go to has Wiis on their shelf. Perhaps supply has caught up with demand in Canada, because I don't think there is a shortage of systems here at all.

When I got my WII I waited outside of Best Buy for 12 hours and was second in line. over 100 people came yet there were only 16 WIIs, many people left angry and disappointed. Luckily I got one.

i was one of the lucky ones that got the wii + zelda and super monkey ball bundle, i just found it on brands-mart one random day, it was a shock

I got mine by talking to a friend of mine who's the manager of a local Gamestop. He had his employees take one of the Wii's off the truck and put it aside for me. :)

Or when Nintendo gets their acts together and starts producing enough Wii's for them to stay in stock for more than 3 hours every week. This is mostly due to Nintendo screwing up. High demand doesn't help, but if Nintendo could produce enough Wii's, we wouldn't be having this problem.

They're already shipping a minimum of eight usually to every store who sells them in the country. US alone. Weekly.

Minimum. To every store. In the US alone. I don't know anywhere near a close number, but that's a lot.
