No plans for a Rock Band on Wii...

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Electronic Arts' Bryce Baer mentioned that there are no current plans to release a Wii version of the hit music game Rock Band.

Yeah, but a while ago, they did say it will happen eventually.

Guess it'll be a few years. On the plus side, it'll be wireless and cheaper.

Yeah....but why wait for a couple years for the price to be $20 less when you can get it now for a more powerful system?

call me crazy but I dont think that its coming out for the wii at all.

It'll be wireless, as opposed to the higher selling 360 version, it will be more than $20 cheaper, and the guitar/drums will be sturdier/made better.

I'm not so sure about that. My whammy bar for the Wii guitar already broke...and it wasn't from wear and tear on the controller...it's a common defect for the Wii version. And $20 cheaper doesn't warrant years of waiting. And do you have any links or sources citing that if it comes to the Wii, it'll be wireless?

Harmonix =/= Guitar Hero 3. They didn't make those guitars. The strum bar was a problem with most Rock Band guitars, but that was fixed.

As for your links you want, no, but it's obvious, considering the Wiimote is wireless itself and can fit into the guitar, not to mention, unlike Microsoft, it does not cost more money to use the Wii's wireless capabilities.

I don't care if Harmonix =/= Guitar Hero 3...you can compare the two games. Guitar Hero 3 is a bad port on the Wii, and if they make Rock Band a few years down the road, I'm willing to bet it'll be another terrible port. And being able to put the Wii-mote in the Guitar to make it wireless...what? So if they do wireless for Rock Band, wouldn't you need several Wii-motes to put into each instrument? I think I'd rather spend the extra $20 now and be able to play with people, instead of buying the Wii version (if it happens) when Rock Band 2 (if it happens) comes out.

Well, I was using that as an example, they don't have to use Wiimotes at all. And you seem to think it will be a few years, which is probably far too long.

We'll just leave it at that then. None-the-less, Rock Band, if it comes out for the Wii, will be at least a year late...and noticing how bad ports and Wii seem to go hand in hand, I'd say there won't be much quality going for it.
