NIGHTS: Journey to Dreams (Offical thread & Friend's Code!)

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
That's right! NIGHTS on Wii has a Wi-Fi game mode!

Here's my code

2277 5307 3819

In 2 player mode, you race against each other :)

I'm gonna give it a quick review hopefully when i get some more free time...

Yet here it is...a sequel to Nights after TEN long years..

So far, the intro and music is remastered, just like the original Nights game...which brings back so many memories..

The gameplay, still remains the same as it once was...thank you Sega...the graphics aren't much to brag, but look pretty regardless...I need to try the classic controller or GameCube controller on this, because the Wii Remote feels weird..I'm so used the Saturn's 3D Analog controller from back in the day, so thank god Sega maintained that feel.

Only weird part, is the NIGHTS Jester has a voice now....reminds me of a girlie Peter Pan....but thank god the voice acting isn't bad...

Here are the ratings:
6.5 Presentation
:Some impressive CG work is mixed with odd pacing, a somewhat problematic camera, but solid, classic Nights art style. A decent story overall, if not a bit overdramatic at times.

7.5 Graphics:
Texture work is a bit weak, but the overall modeling and animations are pretty commendable. Effects add a ton to the experience, as does the trippy style.

8.0 Sound:
The VO work is strong throughout, and some of the music is very, very captivating, despite a few odd tracks thrown in during the game's finale.

6.0 Gameplay:
Extremely stiff, often feeling like first-pass control. Platforming is a chore, and the classic flight control feels a bit sluggish. Pass on the IR mode right away.

6.0 Lasting Appeal:
The game is only a few hours long, but the race multiplayer and online adds a bit to the experience. A lack of mid-level saving and checkpoints will frustrate younger gamers though

my question is... why the overall 6.5 rating? I mean, why bring this game back from so long ... and not try to at least get it to an 8.0. I mean, is it just me... or do people not try to put their best effort into bringing games out and putting the time into them that they need.

IMO this is an important release for Sega. Maybe they did put time into it and thought it was good, but the reviews faired bad.

Post up your opinions.

Re: KNiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

Honestly, I don't know why such a low review score. The Gameplay remains the EXACT same as we remembered it. So how can you not say no? Most Sega fans I have spoken with, adore it.

I see no "Stiff" gameplay, the controls are very responsive.

Graphics I could really care less about, but for a Wii game, they do look a bit outdated by 1-2 years. However, it's SONIC TEAM so it's really pretty and bright.

The soundtrack, devine, it's an entire remastered Soundtrack of what made Nights so sweet to begin with. Some of the new tracks are not too shabby either.

Re: KNiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

I do not really care about up to date graphics, just the colorfulness. I am sad it got such low ratings. I def want this game anyways though. It is on my list of things I want to buy once I get a Wii. lol

I want this game... but I was a little put off by the reviews.

SO... do you recommend it Mega? I do like the originals KNiGHTS Into Dreams.

YES! Strongly recommend it, it rekindles all those memories I had of Nights Into Dreams! Very well done, but like the original game, this is a short, but VERY sweet title.

I say forget those reviewers, because I honestly don't know what they are talking about. This is a solid game.

IGN gave it a 6.5 :-\

even with the low score, i think this is a nostalgic gem that will be worth picking up when the price lowers.

:lol ... did someone merge this topic?

Also, doesn't the WiFi mode just use the Wii friends code? I haven't tried it yet, but I thought it would follow suit with all the other Wii games.
