Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Nintendo is once again targeting piracy on the Wii. The platform holder announced today that they will soon be releasing version 4.3 of the Wii Menu, which is primarily designed to remove any homebrew channels from the system.
"Because unauthorized channels or firmware may impair game play or the Wii console, updating to Wii Menu version 4.3 will check for and automatically remove such unauthorized files," Nintendo wrote in a message that was posted on their support site.
The patch isn't entirely superfluous if you don't use homebrew. Nintendo wrote that there will also be some "behind the scenes enhancements" that will improve system performance.
Expect the latest update soon.
