Sweet, thanks for all the feedback guys. It's good to see there's some interest in this topic, I'm already curious to see what people are going to say about my next entry (coming soon, probably this weekend).
But thanks for all the comments, I always appreciate when people take the time to read my writing, and to get so much positive feedback is definitely great encouragement to make the next one better.

Great article. I definitely connect with some of your points. Although, I thought you didn't have enough time for games? I must be out of the loop.
I don't have time for games, that's why it was necessary to pull the plug entirely. Things kind of caught up with me, and spending the amount of time I did on MW2 was certainly irresponsible. Spending any more time on it would have been signs of a serious problem. You're still in the loop. :lol

Good article, stealth. I don't play games enough or waste enough money for it to be a real huge issue for me. But I wish you luck with your break.
I think most people here are in your position, and so I specifically tried to point out that I don't think there are many people who should give up games for any period of time. Thanks for the props though.

great article.
While i do play games for a long time, it has never really been a problem in my life, I think is due to the fact that i always am organized and balance gaming and working pretty well
Certain events in recent memory has made balance difficult, on both ends. The last two month was the first time the scales tipped in the direction of videogames though, and when it started to tip it flat out sunk. At the end of all this the goal is moderation and balance, so I will certainly be looking at your comments seeing as how you have successfully achieved what you consider to be a good balance.
I should say that I don't really find balancing life and games all that hard. I do dramatize things somewhat to make them more interesting, but I'm not in any kind of danger. I actually thought it would be kind of fun to give something I really enjoy up for awhile, in order to appreciate it all the more once I get it back and so forth. But for some people this would be a really difficult thing to do, and I also wanted to explore that challenge a little. Since I started playing videogames, its hard to think of any extended period of time when I did not play them, so in some sense I'm doing this to simply see if I can do it. And then reflect on it, to see if it is a positive thing or a negative thing, or neither.
Anyways, thanks everyone. Look forward to more coming soon!
