My Gamecube, funny thought!

I have been thinking about it and the funny thing is that out of all the systems out there that I have owned or currently own, the Gamecube is the one I never sold or got rid of. I love the original Xbox and the 360, but have sold and rebought those systems, along with the PS2 many times over. But, for some reason; I never got rid of my Gamecube. I do not know if it is because of the price or the RE Games or some other reason. I think that price may have a lot to do with it. Just thought it was funny and had to say it.

I feel the same way about my 'Cube. For me it's all about RE. I enjoy Halo and Far Cry, but the games on Nintendo's machine are the only ones I can say that I truly LOVE...

I don't think i'd sell mine because I can still see myself enjoying Super Smash Bros. Melee for a long time....unless SSB: Brawl turns out superior.

I guess the Game Cube is a keeper because it's one of the best systems that allows for all the classics that we love.

I almost lost my memory card the other day. I was getting ready to cry - not only for everything on it (a 1019), but the Smash Bros. Data specifically.

We've got hundreds of hours, thousands of matches, and tens of thousand KOs on our special profiles.. eck. I would have died.

Lesson #1, always backup data that is important. :lol

Mine just collects dust, in my basement. The graveyard of old consoles, no longer amusing to my accelerating mind. Lol...but really? I thought that the only good games for it was Smash Bros. and Resident Evil. I got tired of them. Henceforth! Xbox, and the 360.

Hoo Boy! I'd die if anything happened to my memory card with all the RE content on it (everything from Zero to 4). The Xbox doesn't get much of my time, anymore. I just bought Urban Chaos, but it's just another mediocre FPS. I wish the Wii was already here!

I have a backup, but it's months old.

But I found my card, so it's all good.

Yeah, my X Box makes a good doorstop. That's about it. I've got two of them and they often compete for whom will hold the door..

I just got a Gameboy Player for it also. The kids love it to play their GBA Games on it, but the graphics really, really suck on it. I cannot even play it. Man, over the years I have really gotten spoiled with graphics.

This is why I have the older consoles. So I can keep myself thinking that graphics don't equal gameplay. And I still love to play the old Super Mario Bros games every once in a while.

I'd have to agree. When the best game for a console is a launch title (SSB:M) there's a good chance it ends up in one kind of graveyard or another. There were a couple other gems (literally only a couple, like Rogue Leader and RE4) but by and large the gamecube library just doesn't have much to offer, in terms of quantity and quality.

Because the Xbox is just brimming with great games that aren't on other consoles?

Admittedly a lot of the good games on the Xbox can also be found on the PS2, but in most cases they can't be found on the GC and thus the Xbox version is usually the better looking of the two versions. But aside from that there are great exclusive Xbox games such as Ninja Gaiden, Halo 2, Conker:L&R, Psychonauts, Crimson Skies, and many others.

Obviously everyone's going to have a different opinion about this, but for myself, having all three (PS2, Xbox, GC) at my disposal, I can honestly say the GC gets played the least, by far (even less than my 64 :-\).

Wasn't that due to a breakdown? :lol

Ever since I got my gaming PC, I've hardly touched my GC, except when friends are over.

Or bad taste..?

Just joking, of course. Surely.

But yeah. I'd say my Ps2 never gets used either, except for the occasional RPG. Then it suddenly gets a rush of 20-100 hours. But then it's back to the wayside while the Saturn and Gamecube lasers spin and the cart systems all fly....

PC hasn't been used lately since my LAN is down.

I heard of a rumored version of Oblivion for Wii. That has me excited. Shrug..

You are partially correct, and let me now say that out of every system I have ever owned (including previous generations) my GC is the only one to have quit working in less than five years, and concurrently it is the only system I have ever traded in in order to get another one. The latter was not as a direct result of the former, as those who can will remember I considered simply replacing my GC.

Secondly, I would also like to clarify that between my current roommate and myself we own many systems, GC included. I can honestly say that even my N64 gets played more than my GC. The PS2 is probably played the most due to games like Shadow of the Colossus, and is also ironically used the most for multiplayer as well. Even I don't really understand that.

I like my GC and at this point in time is getting the most play. Second is the PS2 and third is my DS. It would be the Xbox but I had to get rid of it since it had a bad drive. I would've bought another one but I think Im just going to get a 360 instead. Eventually Ill get the original.

Ps2 has been getting most of my playtime lately, what with Xenosaga, Disgaea, Wild Arms.. so... that's simple enough.

But when those die down, it'll be back to the mostly GCN play (Melee, etc). I don't believe I have any games on Ps2 that I continually play over time. Just short spurt RPGs. But I like my Japanese RPGs.

My X Box might be coming out of a 2-3 year coma with the playing of Fable...
