Well, its insulting for two reasons:
1) Every third party seems to think that GC owners will like the game simply because Mario's in it. A game should try to sell itself as a good game, not a decent game with a favorite mascot as a playable character.
2) Although it was "EA's decision" to do this Nintendo could have refused to let them do it. It just seems odd that Nintendo keeps talking about Sony and Microsoft whoring up the industry with un-innovative sequel after un-innovative sequel when they themselves are whoring out their own licenses to whoever has enough bling.
Its just selling out is what it is. Although I think Nintendo should sell out a bit (more mature games, even if their not the most innovative) they're selling out in the wrong way.
