Hey guys! I'm posting this from a Starbucks in New York City! (yay, free wi-fi!) Been here since yesterday, got to see a lot of the city today, havin a ton of fun.
Anyway, I wanted to tell you guys to look for me tomorrow in the parade! I'm traveling with the Purdue All-American Marching band, and we are the first band in the parade. As a lot of you know, I play Purdue's World's Largest Drum. So, it should be very easy to spot.
If you want to look for me, I'll be in two different places on the drum at two different times. For the actual parade that starts at 9 AM, I will be hitting the World's Largest Drum on the left side.
Then, we do a little performance in front of the Macy's store on top of that big star in the street. We switch positions right before that, and I will be on the front left of it, turning and pushing the drum. I can almost guarantee that if you're watching, you'll see me.
I believe that show portion will happen around 10 AM.
Here are some photos so you know how to look for me:
This is me beating on the left side of the drum.
This is me on the front left of the drum:
And this is what the new drum heads we put on look like:
Hope you guys all have a good Thanksgiving! Talk to you later!
