Layoffs at IGN *sigh*

I know most people here are not fans of IGN, and to be honest I've got some hang-ups about the site as a whole as well, but I did not like hearing that Scott Bromley and Will Tuttle were fired the other day. Two other people, Dana and Nicole, were as well, but I listen to a lot of the IGN podcasts aside from Girltalk and will miss Bromley the most. I know Tuttle's got a family, wife and 2 kids, so that really sucks for him. All of this right after Hilary Goldstein, who I also loved listening to on their podcasts, left IGN of his own accord earlier last week too.

Change sucks, is what I guess I'm trying to say, haha. But seriously. I'm bummed about that. The future of IGN, and all the podcasts it produces, is uncertain atm. That really sucks.

I know! Right? It's all happening again. I remember after the Christmas holidays ended I actually heard about the 1UP layoffs on an IGN podcast. I was walking, somewhere, can't remember, but I do remember stopping and re-listening to the news release a couple times. It felt like distant relatives or friends of friends had been laid off. It was finding out that people who I liked seeing once in awhile at family reunions were never coming back, like a friend's cool significant other once they break up and you know you'll never really see that person again.

Sigh. :P
