How's your summer going?

A new topic by me? GASP! Anyways, taking a little time out of my, um, busy schedule to see how everyone is doing these long summer months.

I've been working 30 hours a week at Best Buy, making some money chilling in the gaming department. Usually get some gaming in with MM and BV on SC2 every night, but we haven't had a LAN lately. Been playing Some Red Faction, SC2, Crysis 1/2, and some Halo, but that's about it. Working out of course too, mostly shirtless if at all possible :D

But it has been a boring summer, not too much going on because all my friends are gone and I'm in my college town instead of back home. Sucks.

Anyways, how have your summers been?

...spending the summer working and looking for a new job. :\

At least I've gotten some time to play Starcraft 2 and repair one of my old guitars.

I've mostly been working. But I have had quite a bit of time for gaming as well. ^__^

I'm trying to work on my backlog, but it's difficult because I buy more games on impulse. :lol

Currently I have been showing my PS3 some love, mostly with Final Fantasy XIII and occasionally inFAMOUS.

I took a nice vacation just last week, going to Dallas, TX for A-kon and visiting some family of friends in Louisiana.

You all appear to be stuck in some parallel universe where it is summer, because I checked and it is Winter! Crazy, 'eh?

I'm thinking when summer comes I'll be hopefully finding full time work to do after I finish Uni.

but for the moment during this Winter I'm studying, working on projects, and trying to not lose my mind.
Nothing out of the usual, really.

My summer is going quite well. i am having a great summer thus far, enjoying it.

lost a friendship that i thought was good. basically, a friend and i were in his car heading back to my place and he hit me in the arm and i accidentally dropped my McDonald's cup out the window. we both laughed and he dropped me off and he headed back to his moms house which is who he lives with. i am 23 and he is 22 not that that is important. anyway, i called him a few days later, he then told me that he doesn't want to hangout because of the cup going out of the window. he claims that someone called the cops about that! i asked if he got a ticket and he said no. so i was upset, cause i thought he was a good friend, but after talking to some people, including 3 friends, my mom and dad, and my sister, i came to realize that he is obviously not a good friend.

other than that, my summer has been awesome. went to Dave & Busters about three times since May. i have a girlfriend now and its awesome!

overall, its a great summer!!!

Busy busy busyyyyy. My summer is crazy.

I work everyday from 7 to 4, but its about a 50 minute drive, so I'm getting up at 5:30 to leave around 6, and don't get home till around 5 every day. I work at a furniture manufacturing plant doing random work like receiving, maintenance projects, leather inspection, or whatever else needs to be done. Its fun driving the forklift around haha. I also get to sit outside for 2.5 hours twice a week and burn a stack of pallets since we have no other way to get rid of them. I'm really just there so if the cops come they won't say anything since someone is watching it. :lol

I help out the high school drumline monday and thursday nights from 6-9. I usually get home, play like 2ish hours of starcraft 2 or whatever, then go running around 11:45.

Tuesday nights a have church practice, usually from 6-8ish, but we have been having extra rehearsals since theres a big national conference for our denomination and my church's band is playing for it. So that goes from about 8-10:30. Run at 11:45 again.

Wednesday, pretty much the same deal. We have an extra practice so I'm at the church from 6-8ish.

Thursdays, like I said, I help the high school band from 6-9, but I usually leave to play ultimate frisbee at 7 with some people in town then get back to practice around 8:30.

Fridays have been fun though. Usually go out with friends to drink and hang. Went to a RED concert two weeks and a beer tent last week.

Saturdays I usually spend practicing drums most of the day, then usually chill that night.

Sundays I have to be at the church at 7 to practice, then play in our three services at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30. Usually get done around 12:45. Then I book it to the other side of town to play in a ultimate frisbee league at 2. Get done around 4, and chill the rest of the day.

Sorry to give you the breakdown, but its pretty much the same every week, so I thought I would share. :p

Actually no, the age is important, because if at 22 years of age he doesn't want to be your friend over that, then he is extremely childish. So yea I agree with your family, you're better off without him.

My summers going good just drawing my tale off. That's really all I do anymore, work, and then hang out at home drawing or painting.

It's been awesome so far. Landed a sweet 1 year internship in my field at an awesome company. Just started the other day, so I'm stoked on that.

Also spent some time with some extended family this summer, working to make some money but also visiting and getting to know my relatives a lot better.

Yeah, it's been good. Stressful and agonizing at times, but mostly pretty awesome.

It's been pretty stressful. Moreso than usual. I'm actually leaving L.A. to live in Arizona for a bit. So trying to get all that set up. I'll be leaving middle of next month. Should be okay after that.

Not to pry too much, but, no more THQ?

Actually, more THQ, but mainly they moved my department out there and I was offered to keep my job and they offered a complete relocation package. One of my main reasons to go was because I felt it was time to leave for a bit and experience something different. Lived in L.A. all my life. Unfortunately it's happening during our busiest time of the year but once all the work settles it should be cool. Just need to adjust to 115+ degree weather. :(

you bring up a very valid point. one other thing that occurred to me is that if he DID get a ticket, why not ask me to pay it? what a childish loser!!!

New place have a pool and a good AC? You should be ok. Arizona's not that bad, since it's a dry heat.

Uh, yeah, it is bad. Especially when it reaches near 120. Could just be because I'm a wuss though. :lol

It's horrible! But I can manage. And yeah, there's 3 pools and all the apartments have AC. So I should be good. Plus, everything I need is literally within a 4 block radius. So I don't have to venture out to the heat as much.

I'm actually pretty stoked despite all this. I'm considering it more of a sabbatical, because I know I'll be back to L.A. I just need some time away from it.

Just watch out for snakes and scorpions Creepin!

Seriously. Fortunately I haven't seen any from the few times I've been there.

Well yeah, that's what I mean, though. You'll probably spend most of your time inside. =P As long as you have AC it's all good.

When you do go out, though, make sure you drink a lot of water. =P

Another good one is to keep a cold wet towel on the back of your neck, it helps keep your whole body cool.
