How Old Were You When You Started Gaming? When Did You Turn Hard Core?

I starting going to arcades when I was around 10.I started gaming hardcore when I got my first home console.

I started playing video games at age 4 with my buddy the genesis. I was hardcore into gaming when I was 12-16ish then I became more of a casual gamer, and now I don't have time or money to play :(

I started going to the arcades when I was in my teens. They were dominated by pinball machines. I started being hardcore when I got a Commodore 64. My daughter and I picked up Bubble Bobble for the Commodore local and the rest is history. :D

Started playing with an NES at my neighbors house when I was around 5 or 6 years old. I bought a Genesis and SNES soon thereafter, but wasn't really hardcore.

I didn't turn hardcore until I bought an N64 and PS1 back in '96. Especially once I bought Resident Evil, it was all downhill from there.

I don't remember how old I was, but it was on the Atari. My favorite game was Keith Courage since that was my name :D. My first console however was the Sega Genesis...I had about 40 games for that thing. :)

Started out on Genesis and NES, my brother had both but, for some reason he couldn't take care of the Genesis and we went through like 8 of them.

I've always been into games for as long as I can remember.

I got my first console on my 5th birthday, it was a Playstation. And when Tekken 2 came out was when I really got hardcore.

I got my first gaming console when I was around 8- my glorious $300 PS2.
Yeah, I was a late one. And I don't think I ever really became hard core. I game here and there, when I have time.
Until I find a game I really like. *looks at Dark Cloud* some games I can play for many hours at a time, sometimes even days.

Age 3, Coleco Mini-Table Top of Pac-Man. Learned to type on a Commodore 64. Played NES at a friend's house in 87' and got a Sega Master System that year. 1988 is when we got an NES.

I turned Hardcore thanks to Mega Man 3 NES and studying the guide book, "Mario Mania" (aka the Super Mario World guidebook). When I subscribed to Nintendo Power in Feb of 1992, I soon became engrossed and studied.

First played like when I was 4 or 5 on my brother's NES. I guess I became "hardcore" In third grade when I got my gameboy, people coming up to me letting me borrow their pokemon games so I can help them get past some parts or level up their pokemon.

Either that or in sixth grade when I bought a Dreamcast, first system I ever paid for myself :)

Nice choice.Nothing wrong with a Dreamcast. :)

Yep! Even now that I bought a PS3, the Dreamcast is still my favorite system :D
You might want to check out "The Godfather II" for the PS3 if you're down with that kind of game.Watch "The Godfather II" movie first if you haven't already. It makes the game much more enjoyable.

God Bless.

I came out the womb playing a Atari how much hardcore can you get ::) lol nah my very first console was actually the Playstation that's when i started getting hard core. Games till this day still bring lots of joy for me and will always.

Space Invaders on the old Atari consoles FTW when I was just a wee lad. I was fortunate to be just old enough to appreciate Nintendo's rise to prominence, Sega leaving the console wars, Sonly splitting from supporting the big N, and Microsoft the bulky head of the Xbox into the gaming arena.

Started with Atari when I was maybe 4 or 5. I know I was around that age because I played it when we lived in our first house, and I remember specifically having my 7th birthday in our second house. Crazy to think that was around 20 years ago already. I was always into games but what got me truly hooked was the N64 with Ocarina of Time, Mario64, and Mario Kart. I was in 9th grade then so probably around 14 years old.

I got my first game system when I was 12, a Genesis. Mainly because my parents were very reluctant to get me one. However, I started playing when I got a friend that had a C64 and I played the 2600, NES, SNES, and Genesis at my all of friends houses. I also got my first computer after playing Doom at a friend's house one day. I told my parents it was for "school."

Re: How Old Were You When You Started Gaming? When Did You Turn Hardcore?

I turned Hardcore when I was 4, my Game boy Color has always been one of my favorite consoles. I always knew video games would be an obsession for me.As I grew up I learned more about game history, and acquired more games and consoles. Now i'm 15, and own over 10 game consoles and 4 handhelds, the Genesis being my favorite console.

I was around five when I started with an Atari system. Then my mom bought me an NES, and my cousins gave me about 20 games when I was about 8. Then I bought a Sega Master System II when I was about 10. They were being blown out because of the Genesis, so I got it for $20 and a bunch of games for $5 a piece.

The Sega Master System II is the only console, or game machine, that I ever sold. And I have regretted it ever since. :( Nice deal there.
