Hell Scyth

Rock Hard, Dead or Alive
I feel like i want to really make a better difference to Egameaddiction. There's only one way i can really think of ever doing that, and that is to become a Moderator.

I understand how the site works, and I also understand the responsibilities required to be taken to heart when one is a Mod, and I respect the fact that I would need to uphold those duties to the best of my abilities.

So (and I'm mostly asking BV this since it's majority his decision), may I become a Moderator for Egameaddiction?

That's mostly up to BV and the other moderators of the site. But, I think that since aleeock and MegaDrive were recently appointed to the moderator status, the void has been filled. I guess an e-mail to BV would be more appropriate than a topic though.

Yeah, i thought that too, which is why I'm not setting any hopes high for this. I've actually sent an e-mail before to him ages back about the same thing, but never got a response, both times. So at least this time I'm reporting my request, and as you said, it's also a decision made with the contribution of the other Mods opinion too, so this saves some time.

besides, I can always act as a mod for certain areas only. I'm in F&G alot of the time, and almost always in chat.

Well, I think you would make a great mod, bro. And I think there is someone else who would also make a great mod too, but there are already so many mods in this forum...seems like almost all the regular members here are mods, lol. So, I do not know if we need any more, but if BV wants more mods, I am sure you would handle the job very responsibly. :)

Thanks Koopa.

I understand. I was givin' this more thought. Took a bit of effort to actually go ahead and make this topic requesting the job, but, after more thought about the situation, I figured maybe i should decline my request.

In one hand, I really do want to increase my contributions to Egame. I've been thinkin' of applying fr a spot for months now, but never really urged myself enough to go and apply for it. I've also got more knowledge of how Java works, so if BV needs help with anything, I can help out to an extent of my abilities.

In the other hand, even if i do get in, I may still be gone for another year when I get in the army, and there's no saying I'll have access to the net there. Also, with exams coming up at the end of the year, and lots of other school work, I can't do as much Mod work. And just as knowing a bit about Java is good, it's just as useless.

Yeah, I think you'd be a really good mod. In spite of the fact that you joke around a lot, you're always mature and competent when the situation calls for it. But I don't think BV will be adding any mods for a while considering Mega and aleeock were both made mods just this month.

First of all...you don't "apply" for a moderator position. When we need new mods, we'll look through members who have contributed to discussions, are around often, and who we think is the best fit for the spot. Unfortunately, we did just add two new mods, so it will be quite some time before we consider bringing more.

In the mean-time, there are plenty of other ways to help out. Just shoot BV an e-mail, and I'm sure he can give you something to do. :)

For active mods, we really only have alee, Mega, Kirby, and Mai(not so much lately). Lesser active ones include mastermario and Dart.

What exactly makes a mod "active" in your opinion?

A lot of mods, even if they don't post, scan the boards on a daily basis, if not even more often than that. You can actively moderate a board without contributing posts to it. Even then, I average several posts a day consistently, and I'm not even considered a mod that is less active? Harsh... :lol

Oh, don't worry, I forgot about you. Active, I don't usually stalk the Who's Online list, so I judged it off actually seeing them.

Yeah, I usually scan the boards early in the morning. Often I am the only member here. I tend to clean out a lot of spam in those hours. As for posting, I post more at night because my wife is a light sleeper and the keyboard drives her nuts.

Mario that was just crrepy. As for scanning the forums, I do that when I'm bored... usually alot when I'm at school or on weekends! :lol

Like you Dart, I get online alot when no-one else is around because I'm over in Aus, and when I'm online, alot of you peeps are sleeping or at work! lol... I'm youur freindly Egame-neighborhood Hell Scyth... and I watch your acount while you sleep. :o
