Have Pity On Me And My Update Problems,I beg You!

I'm not experienced enough to mess around with this problem myself.I have "Windows Vista Home Edition Premium"(Yes,It's A Legal Copy).I have it set on "Automatic Updates" from "Microsoft",but it still fails to update all the desired updates,and important one's for that matter.I tried on-line help,System Restore,Virus Checks,Firewall checks,still,nothing.

Please help!

Well I have XP so I'm not sure if it's the same set-up.

But generally, you go in this sequence.

Start --> All Programs --> Windows Update --> Express

or

Start --> All Programs --> Windows Update --> Custom

I would go with custom and that way you can pick all the updates you want.
