Happy Birthday Super NES! 9-9-91 to 9-9-09!

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Yes, three birthdays in 1 day! How lovely!

18 years old today! Goodness! Our little 16-bit power house, is a MAN today! Who can buy cigars now! :lol

Needless to say, this system caused the RPG and Fighting craze of the early 1990's. Legally won the 16-bit War to the Sega Genesis & the TurboGrafx 16. It was still able to defeat the 3DO and Jaguar as well without having to do much at all.

I am a mere two days from getting my SNES!! Then I'll have just about all of them. NES, SNES, N64, Cube. Oh yeah... Fanboy time!!

So many good memories... down to the smell of a new Nintendo 64 game!

I remember playing Pilot Wings for the 1st time... then not opening my parachute :lol :lol
F-zero... a blast every time...

I wonder if people still consider the SNES the best system of all time.

:lol

Think about it... isn't it insane to think the Super Nintendo is that old. I don't know why... maybe because i'm getting older... but it's hard to believe it's been THIS LONG since the Super Nintendo came out.

It almost seems like yesterday until I notice that mine has turned yellow over the years. Have mine here beside me and I have had it fired up a lot recently. Been playing some Gradius, Super R-Type, and R-Type III.

OMG! Is that why Dreamcast came out 9-9-99? Revenge against Super NES. Officially it was stated that Sega wanted Sonic Adventure to steal Final Fantasy VIII's wrath in sales.

On Friday November 20th, 2009 at 10:00 AM Eastern (Japan: 11/21/09 12:00 AM JST), there are 5 more birthdays in the Nintendo Co., Ltd. division listed below on that weekend.

- Legend of Zelda: Kamigami no Triforce (A Link to the Past) 18th Birthday
- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 11th Birthday
- Nintendo Super Famicom 19th Birthday
- Pokemon Gold & Silver 10th Birthday
- Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire 7th Birthday

Wanna know what these birthdays have in common? In the last 20 years, these games and the Super Famicom system were all released in Japan on November 21st. That means Super Mario World and F-ZERO also celebrates their 19th birthday on the same Super Famicom age.
