It looks like we finally know what the "Spartans Stand Tall" teaser site was all about. Sony has just announced God of War: Ghost of Sparta, a new PSP-exclusive game developed by Ready At Dawn Studios, the same team responsible for Chains of Olympus. "Excitement for the God of War franchise is at an all-tlme high and we're thrilled to continue that momentum with God of War: Ghost of Sparta," Scott A. Steinberg, vice president, product marketing, SCEA, said in a press release. "This new adventure will showcase Kratos on PSP like never before in an experience that fans and newcomers can enjoy on the go, anytlme, anywhere."

Ghost of Sparta features Kratos once again, this tlme in an adventure that takes place after the first God of War on PS2 and delves into Kratos' rise to power. According to Sony, Ready At Dawn will utilize "state-of-the-art visual technologies" that will allow "higher quality environments and characters." In addition, Ghost of Sparta will offer "over 25% more gameplay" than its PSP predecessor, while adding more enemies on screen, and a greater number of boss encounters.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta is planned for release "later this year." We expect a lot more to be revealed at E3.

MY HEART IS TEEMING WITH JOY! >:( *Kratos Face*

Set in the realm of Greek mythology, God of War: Ghost of Sparta is a single-player game that has players once more taking on the role of Spartan warrior Kratos. This new adventure picks up after the original God of War concludes, telling the story of Kratos' ascension to power as the God of War. In his quest to rid himself of the nightmares that haunt him, Kratos must embark on a journey that will reveal the origins of lost worlds, and finally answer long-awaited questions about his tattoo, scar and family. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, he will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and amazingly dangerous and brutal landscapes throughout his merciless quest.

Awesome! I can't wait to get into the GoW series, as soon as I get a new Sony system.

Re: God of War: Ghost of Sparta announced for PSP!

I'm a huge Greek mythology nut. That's why God of War appealed to me so much in the first place. I can't wait to see what Gods or monsters Kratos kills in this one. And it's supposed to be a whole 25% longer? Awesome! :D

Re: God of War: Ghost of Sparta announced for PSP!

I love the Greek History in general but, it's the story of Kratos that I've lost interest in.

Re: God of War: Ghost of Sparta announced for PSP!

Understandable. I can see how some people would get bored. I, for one, would love to know some more back story to God of War 2.

Re: God of War: Ghost of Sparta announced for PSP!

for me it was more about the setting and the gameplay than the story itself... because to be honest it ain't that good

Re: God of War: Ghost of Sparta announced for PSP!

I agree. The story's decent, but I'm more happy with how true to each of the Gods and monsters they're staying.

Who wants a demo...THIS TUESDAY? One catch, you have to be a PSN Plus member. Sneaky buttholes.

Well for those of us gaming on budget walmart has listed for $30 I don't think you get a preorder bonus but at 25% off what gamestop is charging I would call that a nice bonus in itself.
I can't wait for the is game I have played Chains of Olympus and I loved it. It'll be great to have another psp game with Kratos at full strength I was disappointed in the Kratos lite that they had in Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny.
