It is coming. New Line bought the rights to make it. Looks like the want to time its release with Gears of War 2, around summer 2009. Also discussed in the article are Gears novels.

Gotta love Gears of War!
 
They should get Brad Pitt to play Baird. Seriously, he's a very underrated actor! Plus, he's got the hair for the part.

Either him or Collin Farrel, but I doubt a movie based off a game would have many, if any at all big name actors.
 
Yeah I saw this on G4 today. A game movie actually worth seeing. I'd still rather see a God of War movie, but beggers can't be choosers.

It'll probably be a combination of real and CGI. (if lucky). I mean, the characters are TANKED!
