GameStop stops taking PSP pre-orders

We got an email from corporate today not to take any more PSP pre-orders. The reserve sku was also removed from our computer listings.

Our store only has 28 pre-orders, so I'm a bit surprised. But the same thing happened with the DS (our store had 25 pre-orders) and it ended up that there weren't enough DSs to fulfill the demand, so I expect the same thing to happen with the PSP. I'm willing to bet that there's going to be shortages.

I hope anyone who's interested has already pre-ordered. ;)
 
I haven't even gotten the word to accept pre-orders yet.

GameStop is probably just being cautious. For the DS we had about 5 extra systems. I think we'll at least get 30 PSPs. But I'm not sure.
 
Ok an update. We are taking pre-orders again, but it's for the second shipment. So I'm guessing the launch allocation has already been filled or something.

But if it's anything like Halo 2, if they can meet the demand, the people who pre-order for the second shipment will be able to pick it up on launch if we get enough.
