Boo. I wish they'd just burn. Boo.

Seditious ranting aside...like Cherry said, hoo rah for monopolies!

The only way to slay a beast this big is get a bigger beast. But I dread the day that Wally World tries to topple GameStop.

>_> i don't get why people hate gamestop that much, everytime i go there i buy a cheap game, pay, the guy talks if i want to pre-order something i say no/yes then i get out... simple as that

Pretty much, yes. Same here as well, and they're selling used games, which means money for these games already went to the developers and publishers by being bought originally. It's no different than going on E-bay or Craigslist and purchasing a used game.

Yes, but technically, the companies 'lose' money, because a minimum of two people get the game, when they made the profit of one person buying it.

their used games are crap. They sticker and stamp them. They throw away packaging... technically they are a collectors nightmare.

They over charge on games without packaging... they do not discount games for looking like crap (most of the time). I have MANY examples from when I was in there.

I was going to buy a couple crates of Used Gamestop stuff... Most items were ok, but with the left over stickers and sticker residue, I didn't take them.

That is why I hate Gamestop and MOST used game stores. Call it petty, that's fine. But they do not offer quality items... and I won't buy from them to save a dollar or 2.

Would you like: a memory card, strategy guide, to sign up for our discount card, a warranty for this used game, to save $5 off Madden 08 with your purchase of Devil May Cry 4...

The list goes on.

My Gamestop must be a helluva lot better than yours, then. I haven't ever gotten one scratched(scratched enough to be noticeable) disc, they've all been in the proper case(bar one SM64DS), and I've never been once asked anything besides, "Can I help you with anything?" and, "Need anything else(as in from behind the counter)today?"

Sure doesn't seem like they're losing money to me, as all I've been seeing lately is companies raving about record-breaking years profit-wise.

I never said anything like that at all.

Sounds kinda like exactly what you said..lol. Unless you don't believe they're losing money and that's why you put it in quotations.

When someone buys a game and no money goes to the company who made it, it's technically losing money. It's a pretty basic thing to grasp.

It's not something you can disagree, they're making slightly less profit.
