Nintendo is trying to keep the jingle coming in until the 3DS catches its wave.

I'm going to look to see what I haven't got. I might want to pick me up a Mario in the red case. ;)
 
Too bad the games don't drop in price. Just a fancy new case. Get with the times Nintendo! They can't possibly still be selling so well that a price drop isn't needed.

Ironically that probably the case. lol
Nintendo announced that more than 9.25 million copies of New Super Mario Bros. have been sold in the US.

They sold 9.5 to date, which I'm pretty confident to say that the bulk of those sales were within the first year. There is no way they have maintained steady sales to warrant the high price point after the first and especially after their second year.
