What do you all think? should we have a General Gaming forum in addition to the General Discussion forum?

The general gaming forum would be of purpose for all "gaming posts..." such as what king of gamer are you...etc.
It would also serve as multi-system games... ala Madden 2005 for the Cube/Xbox/PS2.

This was brought to my attention in site suggestions, and I want to see what you all think.

Yeah, I'm with Neph

It would cause general to die down a lot, and I don't think it would be all that active itself.
 
I think we should. I kind of would like a General Gaming/Game Wars type thing. I think that it would make looking for certain topics easier, not harder. Here's what I posted in the other topic, but I'll copy it here.

You would just break it down similar to this...

General Discussion would have topics like:
10 is the most ever in the Who's Online Game (by bluevoodu)
Post it, It Post, post all you can #2
The rest of us have some catching up to do!
Music Thread: What are you listening to RIGHT FRIGGIN NOW???
Joke Thread
Last Movie(s) you've watched?

General Gaming Discussion would have topics like:
GamePro's E3 Showstoppers and E3 From the Hip
What is on your gaming wishlist 6/25-7/2?
gaming deals 6/27/04 -7/3/04
DS Vs PSP
breakdown of gamers
Arcade...
What's the longest time you've gamed straight???
what is in your console 06-14-04 to 6-26-04

The General Discussion forum is already at 4 pages, so if you split them it would be something like 2 and 2. That leaves a lot of topics in both forums for discussion.

It may not seem like a big difference right now, but when the DS and PSP get closer to launch there's going to be more need for a gaming wars/general gaming discussion forum. Otherwise, topics like the ones I have listed under general will get buried underneath all the game wars posts.
 
I don't think that will be the case. I mean, the topics near the bottom of the general discussion are already dead. Splitting up the topics will just mean more forum surfing. If we still had active topics on the second page of the general discussion I'd agree with you more, but with the current memebers we have I don't really see that happening, even with the DS and PSP.

I would say it's a good suggestion and we should keep it in mind if such a problem arises, but I can't see it happening anytime in the near future. Leave it for now but change it if we need to.
 
I think i can agree with it.......because this it just like a chatting type forum, just because of the name "General Discussion"........but if you changed the name and description, maybe i could agree with it.
 
I would suggest keeping it as a suggestion for the future. If the # of members piles up, it would be a good idea. For now, things seem fine the way they are.

I voted yes, but I should have voted I don't care. I'm fine with posting in this forum, since there aren't that many active threads. It would be nice to have a multiplatform gaming area though.
