Do you think the reciept of a classic game purchase should increase it's value?

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
For example: I still have the original receipt from Electronic Boutique when I pre-orderd Final Fantasy VII back in 1997.

If the game was sold with the original receipt, should that increase the value?

Don't really see why it would. I guess for some people it might since knowing it had only one owner means it might be in better shape, but other than that I don't see why it would increase value.

I had the original receipt for my NES, and the box it came in. But I never thought much for it's value. Quite honestly, I bought it to play it. The person I bought it from just happened to have all that stuff with it. So I'll say it may be valuable for someone, but not everyone.

It I were the one buying, no. But that doesn't mean much, because I hardly buy anything besides to play it. Perhaps a collector might consider it more valuable if it had a receipt, but I don't think so in most cases.

if it were in pristine condition (still in packaging) then yes. also it would have to be a really old game or console (think like atari 2600 et al.). in the classic car business the original window sticker on an unmolested car before 1975ish brings more money than a similar car without it.

I can't see how it would. The only thing a slip could function as would be to verify the date on which you bought it.On the other hand, this is 2010 so God only knows what someone may think about it.

Godspeed.
Kaz
