Creator of Halo Wants To Work On Revolution

I almost went to sleep before I stumbled upon this.

Father of Halo intrigued at thought of a FPS on Nintendo Revolution.

The father of the Halo series, Jason Jones, is extremely interested in working on the Nintendo Revolution, according to the latest issue of EGM. This hasn't been made public it seems because Microsoft has kept the interview hidden from the public. In the interview Mr. Jones talks about a FPS on the system and some of the great ideas he had for it.

This definitely says something about the possibilities of a FPS on the Revolution if the father of Halo is even intrigued by the thought of it. This certainly will not make Microsoft happy. It is bad enough that they are receiving quite a bit of bad publicity after the Xbox 360 launch, now they have their biggest developer, of their biggest franchise, talking about possibilities of games on other systems. I'm sure nothing will come out of this, but it is quite interesting to hear in the grand scheme of things.

Dont know how truthful this article is but if it is for real than I can only hope that he's able to get away from microsoft for at least one game.

****ASSUMING THIS IS TRUE****

I wonder why he is intrigued?   Do you think he likes the controller idea?

or I wonder what would be intriguing him...

Dude... if Xbox lost exclusivity on Halo..... that would be a BIG blow to Microsoft.  That alone sold the Xbox IMO.  Yes, there are other features that sold the Xbox, but if you look at all things considered, I think Halo would be a large percentage of Xbox purchase motives.

But still.... I wonder if this is true, and I am curious as to why he would be intrigued.

Idk...maybe to try something new? Nintendo and Microsoft are two wayyyy different companies. Nintendo has a more childish approach aside from the usual arguments stating that the Resident Evil games are gory on the system. That's about it though. Maybe he wants to try something a little more family oriented. ...I don't know.

.... you know.... I am getting tired of the Nintendo "childish" stance people have. I have over 80 Gamecube games.... and I'd say no more than 15-20 are somewhat "childish." People consider more cartoonish graphics childish....or if it doesn't have blood... and I honestly get tired of people saying how "Nintendo" is kiddy....

this is a topic for another place though..

I don't think he'll create a different style of game... especially if he is intrigued by the thought of an FPS on the Revolution. FPS games are typically not kiddy... OR family orientated.

**UPDATE**

It's not true. I found another article interviewing the creator of Halo and he was asked about those comments and he denied them. So no game for the Revolution by the creator of Halo.

:lol

Yeah, I figured as much. Plus, Halo WILL NEVER appear on another CONSOLE while Microsoft is in the console business. If you deny this, well then, you can go back to your flat Earth in the center of the universe.

True but I think these rumors are more to push a brand new game by the maker of Halo. Not necessarily a port of Halo.

Although I do believe with that statement you, in effect, proved you are living in a fantasy world that is full of unicorns, rainbows, and lollipops, it also makes me think something else. That even though you may have somehow collected 60 GC games that would appeal to an older audience, at least 3 times that amount could be found with great ease on either the Xbox or the PS2. And more to the point, all the big name adult titles (GTA, The Suffering, etc.), that actually play well in addition to sporting mature themes, can not be found on the GC console. Trust me, I owned a GC, and many many times I found myself overlooking childish themes to have fun with the game.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't part of playing videogames as an adult is to kind of grasp at the bits and pieces of what's left of your childhood?? The whole "kiddy" image of Nintendo doesn't bother me one bit. Mainly because I love playing games that feel somewhat cartoonish. And to be overly critical on a game or system simply takes the fun out of gaming altogether.

Well, it would have been cool for Nintendo. I doubt that it would have hurt Xbox 360 sales. And to play the conspiracy theorist, I am willing to bet that if the statements were true, that Microsoft may have shown him the difference between his paycheck now if he denied it, or what he'd be making if he said they were true. Money is a great motivator.

If it were indeed false, just imagine a Halo=like game for the Rev!! Oh well, there are other developers in the world...

I would have to disagree with that. I have been a "gamer" for most of my life and I'm not 'grasping at bits and pieces of what's left of my childhood'. There is none left :lol

The notion that playing videogames is solely for children is no longer current. I read somewhere, and I could be wrong about this, that the average age of today's game players is somewhere around 30.
