A friend of mine from the chess club has kind of a odd lookout on life, but certainly interesting.

A fella from the club was giving both of us a ride home one night, and the topic of conversation was on hunting.I was saying that I wouldn't have the heart to kill an animal, not even for food.Afterward,he said"...No you get people to do it for you..".I asked him what he meant. He said that when you go to the grocery store and buy a steak,it's the same thing.

I'm not sure. That could be looked at a lot of ways.I interested to hear your take on the subject.

God Bless,

No I don't think it makes you a hypocrite. However, if you were bashing hunting then my opinion would be different. I've seen meat eaters who bash hunting and I think that is pretty unfair. Regardless, an animal has to be killed, and regardless, that animal will suffer to some degree. But what non hunters don't understand is that typically an animal killed in the wild suffers much less than one in the hands of meat plant. Those animals are usually highly abused and sometimes killed in very crude fashion. Also, hunters actually respect the animals we kill, as hard as that may be to believe. Does anybody respect the cow they scarf down from a Burger King drive-thru? I doubt it!

That's a good point x2.

I'm not a hunter. Just have never had the interest to sit up in the top of a tree, but I have enjoyed the meat from those who do. I have known some who like hunting but don't care for the meat. Bring it to me, waa..hahaha. Smoked deer or deer sausage is very tasty.

^^ I concure on this.

And I'll add that eating meat is only another part of the circle of life (unless you are Vegan), but does anyone speak of the plants harvested either which provide nourishment for wildlife and the soil?

It depends how you look at it, but saying you couldn't kill and animal in order to consume it's flesh for survival, and rather, purchasing the meat taken from an animal killed/slaughtered by another, does not make you a hypocrite.
