Burnout 3

I betcha if I go into the store, fondle the packaging, and come back and report, it'll be something along the lines of "They should've had a different picture on the front..." :D
 
I played it for about a hour, it was late at night so i wanted to get to bed, but it's completely AWESOME!!! I'm not sure how late it was but I turned off my compture at about midnight and went back to the game to do 1 last race which turned out to 3 races but won the gold :).

I;ll outline a few things-

-HUGE rewards, the better you do the more you get- cars, tracks, that kind of thing

-Crazy is GOOD, you have to be VERY aggressive and smash into other player and try to knock them off the road which give you higher statas in the game, there are many ways to do this.

-When you get tired of racing you can do CRASH mode instead which you try to do a missive pileup and earn BIG cash which gives you more cars. There's many cool features in the crash mode that will help in earning more money which gives you more cars.

-The game is HUGE, tons and tons of races and Crash races to complete + a online mode for even more fun, all in all this game is gonna last a very long time and is just addictave to play.
 
Graphics look good 0 slowdowns and have a very nice look to them nothing super special but nice.

Physics for the crashes is good, lots of stuff get torn up but it's a arcade style and is NOT a car sim in anyway. The sence of speed is great, feels blazing fast but after a few races you get use to it. The car damage models is great nearly every part can get ripped torn and shredded off. The crashes feel real but they slow down the crashes so you can see what is happing and when your car touches down you can control it a little, haven't figured out this control yet.
 
I watched some of the videos on the internet, and the physics of the crashes I've seen sucked. When they hit the car from behind and theirs was forced to the left, the car should've rolled over and over on it's side. However, it just slid. I haven't seen a part when the car actually rolls. They could've done MUCH better, but I'm definately renting it ASAP.
 
I'm not a physics gruel so it's fine with me, ya Rent it rent EVERY game before you buy it, it sucks to waste 50 bucks on a game you wouldn't care for.
 
It just angers me when I picture how it realistically would crash, and then realize that half the car just disappeared and there's sparks everywhere.
 
Yeah, the parts shouldn't just disappear.  They should bend into the car and cause realistic wreckage.

Do the windows at least blow out and have glass all over the street?

And is there a way to make the car roll over and over?
 
ya a little not really that noticable tho, I'm just completely saturated with this game right now. I played it for a few hours today, like most of the afternoon and evening so I can wait a day before I start playing again. I haven't played my ps2 for about 2 months so it feels like i'm making up for this lost gameplay at the end of summer.
 
And I'm sure that I'll have fun. I get Fable the 14th of this month, and can use my free rental anytime after that. I'll probably do it after the 25th so I actually have my driver's license.
 
I'm like 23% complete on this game already so if you play this game straight through it should last about a week, depending how hard core a gamer you are.

Well it would be nice, but I'm ok with getting it for XBOX, especially since I want to play it online and GC offers little online support.

The Controller S is well suited for racing games, too.
 
Got the game, getting really frustrated on the one race thing in the US. I swear there's no possible way to make it through there w/out crashing once to make the 1 minute 3 second limit...

What angers me is the times where I wouldn't have crashed and the darn thing crashes me, forcing me to restart the race...

which race? I had a hard time with the one you have to make it in 1m 30s for gold and took me a long time to get it.
 
I think it's called Burning Circle or something, it's in the USA.

I can't play right now, since my brother's having too much fun crashing :p
