Bundled Controller?

Darth Revan is watching you.
The controller that came bundled with my Wii can turn the system on.

The 2nd controller I have doesn't turn the system on. If something were to happen to my first controller, would there be a way to calibrate the other to turn it on? Because right now the only way to use the 2nd controller is to connect it using the 1st controller, as far as I know.
 
I tried, but I may be doing it wrong. I thought all you had to do was press the red button under the battery cover? If so, I've done that and all it does it blink for a while. :/

There's two buttons you need to press. The one on the console and the one on the Wii Remote.

And what Aleeock said is correct. If you're having problems, you're either doing it wrong or your Wii Remote is defective.
