Ok, so Renee treated me to seeing Avatar. The movie was everything it was hyped to be. I was very impressed and would like to see it again!

Hey Kaz, how about asking has anyone else seen the movie?

Anyways, looking back at it. I was very harsh on the film, but thinking about the re-telling of stories like Dances with Wolves and Pocahontas is a given. Every great story has been re-told one way or another by now. I have to say the film was very good.
 
I enjoyed it, I had a movie pass so I don't regret seeing it though.
I thought some things were ridiculous though

The action was good and the visuals were spectacular. The plot was nothing new and it was FULL of holes. Still, it was a good movie.

Also, the first reference to unobtanium I've ever seen was in the Core. It was pretty lame that they ripped it off. And in the Core it was used for humor not to be serious.
 
Gotta get that unobtanium. In the end they could have still got it in the "weeks" that the navi were gathering forces...

But I loved the visuals and the fight with the giant bird creature better be a bonus feature on the blu-ray
 
The movie was amazing. I went into that movie thinking it would suck cause the trailer sucked..but I was set straight by the end of the movie.
 
I saw this movie on my birthday. A few weeks later I saw District 9. The two have slightly similar storylines, but District 9's was buckets better.
