Anti PSP article (decently written though)

I know.... I am earning a more anti-Sony rep.... but that is not my point here.

This is a decently written article I found at another site... and I just wanted to post it here for discussion.

Alrighty..here we go:

Post it up :)

I don't know what it is about the PSP, but it just rubs me the wrong way. Perhaps it's just the fact that the hand-held is Nintendo's market and Sony is just trying to take it over, or maybe it's because all I hear from other people and on TV is how cool and awsome the PSP is and how feeble and weak the DS is. The only reason I would even consider picking one of these up is so I could play Metal Gear Acid.

but the DS is not weak .... I am not sure how they get that.

I am sure there are negatives to the DS.. IE the battery life is only 13-15 hours compared to the GBA SP being 20+ I belive...
no backward compatibility on GBC and GB games, and only single player GBA games.

I'll post my opinions on the PSP when it comes out... but I know for sure that I like the DS. It is a solid product and design. I think the Screen sizes are fine as well.

Now, Once I try the PSP.... I'll see.
I thought MG Acid looked cool... but I am not sure about the turn based thing.

I am up for new things and all (IE PSO 3 card based), but I am not sure how well that will work with Metal Gear. We'll see though.

I know it was the article's intent, but it still seemed to suffer from being extremely biased. I know the author was trying to prove their opinion, but there still should have remained some kind of objectivity.

I still think the PSP looks cool and the DS gimmicky. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see what happens.

NOOOOooooooo, for the love of God make it stop.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm getting pretty tired of all of the DS vs. PSP stuff.

Sony fanboys make me not want to get one out of spite, and Nintendo fanboys make me want to get one out of spite.

:p

Weakest point of the DS... there are barely any games out for it yet.

The only potential game that piqued my interest is the Castlevania sequal to Aria of Sorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if the PSP had some Castlevania offering too though.

I agree 100% with this statement. The only other games i see for the DS are rehashed N64 and GC titles, and gimmicky games that use some odd form of interactions (touch, blowing into mic, ect).

I've never really gotten into any of these "console wars" discussions..mainly because I berely ever play new consoles...only classic ones...but I'm gonna have to say here..my money is on the PSP at this point.

But I seriously doubt I'll buy either one honestly.

One of the responses was quite good, and written from the other perspective.

I don't have anything to quote, but you should look it up, it's a huge post so it's not hard to find.

Lol....Well my guess, being it's a Sony product, is that it will break or malfunction within the first year of use. The DS on the other hand feels like a friggin tank, like most of Nintendo's quality products. Now, that being said, I will get a PSP, but not until a few price drops and version updates, cause you know the first versions will be crapola, that's how they make their money....

I just read it, and it is kind of biased. At least wait until the PSP has been out for a while until stating things like they're fact.

However, as I have no interest in either the PSP OR the DS...blah.
