And Sony steals from Nintendo AGAIN.

It's not a steal. They borrowed the concept but it's totally different than the Revolution controller.

I actually welcome it and like I said in the other topic, all I hope is that the developers got enough of a heads up to be able to utilize it properly.

Other topic? There's another topic concerning this?

Perhaps this would work better in the Revolution topic.

Still, borrowing the concept is stealing. I would say maybe a coincidence if they hadn't done it before. Ever seen that joke image? "What Nintendo Create, We Take."

Really, they did take the idea from Nintendo. From what I hear they "renovated" their controller right after Nintendo revealed theirs. I'll have to look into that a little bit more.

Since there a small discussion about this on this topic I'll move this to the Revolution forum, so the fanboys (yes me too) can see it XD

It's not stealing. The concept is similar but not the same. It's nothing Nintendo fans need to worry about anyways. So they added tilt, big whoop.

And the other topic Im talking about is the one about Sony's Press Conference.

Lol, I'm not worried about it, I'm just ticked at Sony for taking another concept Nintendo was doing.

I'm not saying they took the motion-sensitivity features the Wii controller uses. I'm just saying that tilt-sensitivity hasn't been even heard of until Nintendo decided to bring it to the table. Then all of a sudden Sony brings it to the table? Doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. :p

Then again I am a fanboy and you may not be so I can't barge my opinions on you.

:lol I love all games. I have defended Nintendo and been labeled a Nintendo fanboy so I guess I am.

I still think they borrowed the concept. Both Nintendo and Sony have added functionality that has existed before, so I don't think they stole anything.

Coincidence? Oh yes. but there's too much of a difference to call it plagarism. Plus, I personally believe this is the way games are heading eventually anyways. It adds to the whole immersion, if you ask me.

The tilt feature has been around forever. There were Game Boy games that could do that. So it's taken this long for Sony to think about using it...it's kind of funny. Like how it took three generations for Sony to realize that only having two controller ports wasn't the best way to go about it. :p At this rate, two generations from now, Sony will incorporate what the Wii controller already has.

Business is cut throat, and Nintendo has done a lot of throat cutting in their day, so even if sony is stealing, which I don't believe to be the case, consider it karma. but yea, like mai said, tilt has been around for a while. There were some games for one of the later renditions of the game boy that had where you tilted your gb to move a character around like a pinball.

Nintendo is no pioneer. Atari (when they were atari) tried all the crazy stuff first. They had great ideas but the technology wasn't there yet. All anyone is doing anymore is putting 20-25 year old ideas into action via technology breakthroughs. Heck, atari had a controller you hooked on your head and "brain waves" supposedly controled your input device. Nothing is new.

back to nintendo, they used to tell developers they wouldn't be nintendo liscensed if they developed for anyone else, single handedly killing the TG-16 among other ill-fated systems. Well maybe not single handedly but they deserve the lion's share of the blame. So even if sony is stealing you've gotta remember, nintendo is a shrewd company all about business. They set the precedent back in the NES days, I say screw it, let everyone fight it out. Sure only the strong will survive but it makes the companies strive to offer more to us - the end consumer - and everyone has to keep making better and better stuff, heck, atari made a wireless controller around 1980 81, and they've all (wireless controllers) been crap until I'd say the wave bird. Then all of a sudden there's killer wireless controllers packed in to the 360. And that's just one example..

Hahahahahah Sony stealing from Nintendo...like they'd ever need to. :lol

They both use T.V.s I heard...I guess you need one of those to see the games on..well...televisions. I wonder which company came out with that first? I dont' think it was Nintendo....THIEFS! :lol

This is all just ludacris coming from some crybaby Nintendo fans. Geezee.

I just think it's funny how Sony is always taking things. :p

Ok, there were some points made on this point, some being rude like in Strubes' case. But yeah I'll back off. It still looks like they took it IMO.

*Locks topic because it is officially useless*

actually... sony did rip the concept off. :lol

No one else thought of this. BUT... Sony had this playable for demonstration, and no one could get it to work.

And that is partially what put Atari out of business. They had no clear cut way to execute what they've done.... plus business mistakes.
brain waves? I want some info on that :lol are you serious? That honestly sounds dangerous :lol

and yes, Nintendo is a shrewd business company... but that is why they are still here today. They know how to be profitable.... PERIOD.

Bv :hat

True dat BV, thanks for the backup... but lol, the topic's locked xD I thought it was a pointless topic after people posted so I locked it.

Hey Kirby... my friend *that is a xbox and xbox 360 guy* said the same thing. He doesn't buy Nintendo anymore... but he was like "what's up with that" :lol

granted it may be welcomed by some... but I guess there are people on both sides of the argument.
