alright out with it, who has it!!!!!

Well I got one. Havent had time to play with it too much yet. But Ill give you what I can. The best thing about it is the screen. It's really big and crisp for a handheld. But it hurts my eyes a little. It is an LCD screen so it doesnt refresh as good as a CRT screen would so you get a little bit of jagged edges. Also if you plan on getting one get some kind of warranty cuz a lot of these are coming up with dead pixels. Mine has at least two. The little nub that is the analog stick is nice but feels like it doesnt have much range. But ill wont be able to tell until I get a game that really uses it. Thats about it for now.

I have one.... but I don't use it much. I have played a few games for it, but its not that great imo.

The cool thing is you can play mp3's on it... but really... I don't care.

FYI.. get a screen protector.

I don't own it, but I got to play one last night. The actual PSP itself ruled. It looked extremely cool and stylistic and whatnot, and the screen is huge. Playing games on it was a blast, even if I cold "only" play it for four hour intervals (seriously, if you have a full battery and it goes dead in one sitting you should have quit playing awhile ago) it would be the best 4 hours of gaming you spend. It really is just amazing to see graphics like that on a handheld, and a system with the PSP's capabilities can now actually have games on it that warrant playing it for extended periods of time, instead of just 15 min. pick up and play games.

I have one myself - almost two weeks now. I sold my DS I had pre-ordered to buy it. I must say that the DS seems like a joke in comparison. The touch screen is cool, but the PSPs graphics wipe the DS across the floor. I have Ridge Racer and had tried it on the DS. It's amazing how much better it looks on the PSP, and it controls better too. I have NFSU:R and Wipeout, and I love NFSU. Wipeout I don't care for and may sell it for Metal Gear Acid. NFSU is pretty much like the other versions but simplified. Graphics are great on it.

The system itself I think is great. Games are great and factor in videos and music and you have a pretty complete package. Video playback is very good, especially UMD movies. Music playback is nothing special, just plays your mp3s. The system itself seems a little cramped sometimes but is a nice overall size. When you first open it you're amazed by the screen's size. The screen is downright beautiful. Memory sticks work fine, although buying them is less than ideal. If you don't need mp3s or videos on the PSP, then the 32mb stick it comes with is fine. I bought a 256mb Sandisk stick for $40. The screen is delicate though - I've treated mine like a first born and it still has some fine scratches in it. I bought Hori's screen protector which is actually really good (I bought it from here with FAST shipping). The system itself is very nice looking with thet reflective face. It's not as embarrasing to be seen with as the DS was. The battery is easily removable which is great for changing out batteries. Battery life is much better than predicted. I haven't played until my battery was dryer then the desert, but I could get about 8hours out of Ridge Racer. It's very dependent upon the game based on how much loading it requires. Anything else? <phew>

yes, welcome to the boards :)  Glad to see you joined up!  Hope you enjoy your stay.

On that same token... I am not sure why people are rippin up the DS so much.  Its a fun system.
to each their own I guess.  I own both...  I've playeed over 12 games on the PSP and abou 10 on the DS..... The only game that I've had a blast with on the PSP is Twisted Metal.   I know that sounds stupid... but I own Mercury, Twisted, and Wipeout Pure... but I have played nearly all titles.

its a cool system. just the games don't hold my attention real well.

^ which is why there are multiple systems with different formats, different games, different intended audiences...

Thats right. Nowadays there is something out there to satisfy your tastes. Although I dont know why he would be embarrassed about his DS.

I don't own one, but I played my cousin's when I was at his house during spring break a couple weeks ago.

At first glance, it's gorgeous. The screen is huge and it's a good size. I though holding it was a little akward though and I couldn't play any games for longer than about 15 minutes. The screen is really delicate and can scratch very easily.

You need to get headphones or something to watch movies on it, the volume IMO is horrible. It plays the actual movies perfectly, but it's just really hard to hear. As long as I played it, (about 2 hours) the battery didn't go dead, so that's a good thing.

Anywho, I'm most likely not going to buy it for a long time. Not only am I broke, I'm just happy right now with my old DS.

did you just copy and paste that right out of the sony website?

well it seems so. i mean its along perfectly crafted piece of work that bashes the DS and fully explains the PSP's capability's that we already know about.
