A little reflection... and seeing how this site has grown

Well 1st... I want people to post up their favorite memories of this board in the past.

but also... just reflecting on how fast time went... and how much this board has grown... it's crazy.
We are at 113808 posts, 6268 topics, and 2098 members at the time of this post. It seems like a month ago we were trying to break the 100,000 point (in reality it was a few months ago).... but still... time is going QUICK. My time needs to slow down a bit :)

Now... if you ask me... that's a bit crazy. but think if we could have been able to import those Ezboard posts when we moved from Ezboard to here in 2004... That would have been another 70000- 110,000 posts on top of what we have now... at least.

Crazy stuff! So... post up your memories... what you like about the boards... or other things you want to!

Oh man, I remember when the Revolution's true name was revealed and how dissapointed everyone was. Even you, Blue! But, now the name's sticking, and nobody's making a big deal about it. Oh, and the old PS2 vs Xbox vs Gamecube threads...those were entertaining. :lol

I also remember being a brand new member, never having joined a forum before. I joined, and before you know it, I felt like I was part of something special, and still am. :)

There was a hilarious one I read the other day... I can't remember it right now. I think it was aweful that I had to ask my friend to play with my wii...

Haha yes, I was like "hey..what about the lil kids that are gonna ask other lil kids to come over and play their wii's"...haha it was so innapropriate. :lol

Breaking news on the Wii...like the motion sensing n all that stuff were great times in the forums as well.
 
I miss both Neph and Satori. I mean, I understand why they're gone, but things were so much more interesting with those two around. :lol

Yeah those two were entertaining while they lasted.

I can't think of any specific thing, this place is just all-around-cookies!
 
Well I'm still fairly new to the site, but not too much longer till one year ;-p

I like the recent forum upgrade. lot's more convenience and a few fresh icons.
 
I've been here for little over a year I can remember back when I joined I was making about 12 post per day on average

I remember when Maidenfan and I would run a much in F&G, Neph would accuse me of baiting him. And then getting nasty PMs from him. I remember when Stealth became a mod and made aspeech. I cried I was so moved. :lol I remember when the Revolution really wasn't the "Revolution" anymore and how everyone had mixed feelings. I remember when the 360 launched, and how they would break and people would get new ones. I remember when the PS3 launched, and Strubes got angry and became a different person like Sony picked on him in middleschool. :lol And how he doesn't mind when I call him "yankee."

I tell you what, there probably isn't a single active member here that if I lived next door, we wouldn't hang out. Bunch of great people come here. And I hope it grows even more.

By the way, where the heck is SgtWoodsy??
 
I'd have to say the best moment I had at this board (although technically it was the old Ezboard) was when they showed the Zelda trailer at E3, as well as Advance Wars for GC and the first news about Wii came out, including SSB online. The first thing I thought after I read all about it was that I had to post it up immediately at this board, and when I got to the board there were several posts about each topic already posted within a couple hours of when I found out about it. To be that excited about videogames and then to find other people who were just as excited as I was... that was a good day.

Becoming a mod was pretty cool, as Dart brought up :lol. After about 4-5 years, I think I earned it. :D

I also enjoyed Sartori and Neph, well, to a point. I think every forum needs at least one or two people who try to stir up some arguements, just to keep things interesting. I liked Neph more than Sartori, but that might just be my Canadian bias.

More than anything what really blows my hair back is thinking about all the stuff I've gone through in my real life as I've come to these boards. It's crazy to think of who I was when I first laid eyes on the ol game addicts forum, and to see who I am now, and to think that egameaddiction was there intermittently through it all. Good stuff.
