A few rumors

A couple of my very very retarded friends just told me that the "ps3 can play gamecube games" and the "gamecabe and playstation have combined". I dont know what theyre smoking, but i need some quick proof so they will listen to me and know that this is definetly not true. Even if a couple of you gave a few brief statements, that would help.
 
The chance of that happening is even slimmer than the rumor of Microsoft and Nintendo merging that's floating around. Nintendo and Sony hate each other too much. I mean, if Sony and Nintendo were going to merge, why would Sony put out the PSP?

But a long time ago, before the Playstation was created, Sony and Nintendo did have plans to work together. Sony was working on a disc drive for the SNES. However, Nintendo backed out, and Sony used what they learned to create the Playstation. And you know the story after that. PS beats the N64, PS2 beats the GC, etc.

anyway..... I SERIOUSLY doubt this. In fact, I'd give the odds .01 / 1,000,000,000
slim pickens there :D

Why would one company, who stands to make billions of dollars of profit on their own, merge with another company, who also stands to make billions of dollars on their own? Nintendo has stated many times that the day they stop making consoles is the day they stop being Nintendo. The validity of your friend's statement has no basis in reality, tell him he's a moron, and move on. :D
